NCIS Los Angeles Actor Miguel Ferrer Dead at 61 #RIPMiguelFerrer

He was that actor with the smooth whiskey soaked voice – man did he ever have presence. When Ferrer spoke, we listened. He died today of cancer.

Since 2012 he was Owen Granger on NCIS: Los Angeles and was about to re-join the cast of the new Twin Peaks reboot and reprise his role as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfeld in May this year.

He came from a very famous family. His dad was Oscar-winning actor Jose Ferrer. His Mom was the great Rosemary Clooney and we all know his cousin George Clooney

NCIS: Los Angeles showrunner R. Scott Gemmill said today in a statement, “Today, NCIS: Los Angeles lost a beloved family member, Miguel was a man of tremendous talent who had a powerful dramatic presence on screen, a wicked sense of humor, and a huge heart. Our thoughts go out to his wife Lori, his sons, and his entire family. He will be greatly missed.”

He was in over 40 movies including the first Robocop film in1987 where he played one of the shakers who spearheaded the Robocop program. Ferrer starred in Star Trek: III and Iron Man 3 but most of his acting was for the small screen. He appeared on many shows, Magnum, P.I., ChiPS and Cagney & Lacey.

Ferrer also landed a gig on NBC drama Crossing Jordan playing the medical examiner Dr. Garret Macy from 2001–07.

Being from that musical family certainly rubbed off on him. Ferrer was a talented drummer who played with Keith Moon and his mother and Bing Crosby. – by John Beaudin
